FAQ

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions by our customers. You are also welcome to contact us personally.

mould2part specialises in crafting injection moulded components from 3D customer data in remarkably small quantities, commencing at a single piece. The entire process chain, encompassing tool design, tool creation and parts fabrication, is conducted in-house.

All thermoplastics, LSR silicones, as well as MIM and CIM materials can be processed.

High-performance thermoplastics such as PEEK, PPS or PPSU

Standard thermoplastics such as PE or PP

Engineering thermoplastics such as PPA, PBT or PA

All liquid silicone rubbers (LSRs) can be processed.

All MIM and CIM materials can be processed.

To procure a quotation, 3D data and a drawing (if available) are needed. It is also advantageous to know details regarding the type of plastic to be used and the desired quantity of pieces. The more detailed the specifications, the more accurate the quotation can be.

Quotations are typically furnished within 24 hours.

mould2part can fabricate plastic parts of various sizes. The maximum condidtions are as follows:

Maximum volumes of the parts: For thermoplastics: approx. 380cm³, and for LSRs: approx. 90cm³.

Dimensions of the parts: Maximum length of the part: approx. 650mm, maximum height of the part: approx. 250mm, projected area: 600cm² (depending on the wall thickness)

Depending on the complexity of the material, mould2part GmbH can manufacture parts within 2-6 weeks. In exceptional circumstances, delivery times of less than one week are also achievable.

The benefits are as follows:

– cost-effectiveness

– extremely brief lead times

– ease of modification

– suitable for quantities up to 200,000

– bridging the time until the launch of serial production

It is always advisable to commit to aluminium injection moulding tools, test their function using fabricated parts and then tweak them if necessary. This obviates the necessity for laborious adjustment iterations traditionally associated with (multiple) steel tools.

With our Rapid Tooling Plus technique at hand, we can manufacture up to 200,000 parts, depending on the material and complexity. This could potentially serve as a bridge until the launch of serial production.

The mould incorporates tool inserts, which are fabricated exclusively for you, and a uniquely customised master tool. The tool inserts transition to the client’s ownership subsequent to complete payment. The master mould remains the property of mould2part GmbH.

Following the final injection task, the aluminium injection mould is kept in storage at no additional cost for two years. The customer is then asked whether the aluminium injection moulds may be discarded or the customer prefers to have them shipped.

Plastics you provide are kept in storage for a period of one year. After one year, any remaining quantities are disposed of. The plastic alters its characteristics when the bag is opened. For the plastic parts to meet the required properties, it is advised to produce them from fresh, unsealed plastic bags.
