Interview with Rizah Ajdini

Rizah Ajdini has been working as a CNC milling machine operator at mould2part since 2018 and is an outstanding example of the positive effects of hard work and ambition.

What did you do before mould2part and how did you join the company?

Before joining mould2part, I worked as a window fitter, although I am actually a trained chef. The former team leader of the milling department brought me to mould2part. Although I had no experience in milling, the management gave me a three-month trial period.

What happened after your trial period and how did you develop at mould2part?

After the three months, it was agreed that I would receive support for a year, with the aim of being able to work mostly independently afterwards. I saw this as a huge opportunity and was determined to develop myself further. The entire team supported and motivated me, and the management also regularly gave me positive feedback, which gave me additional motivation. Our machine park includes 3-, 4- and 5-axis machines, and today I am able to operate all of our machines.

What does your everyday life at mould2part look like?

We have flexible working hours at mould2part. In our team, I’m usually the first to arrive at 6 a.m. and start the machines. Then I read my e-mails and continue working on the orders according to our process. At 08:00 every day we have a short team meeting in which we discuss what we are currently working on and when we have to be finished. Of course, there are times when overtime is necessary, but I’m usually done with work after 8.5 hours.

Is there a favorite project or a personal highlight?

There are always projects where I am surprised by the result. Based on the CAD file, you can already guess how the part will look like, but it’s just brilliant to actually hold the finished product in your hands and see what we’ve achieved.

My personal highlight, however, is the move to the new building. I can’t imagine a more beautiful and modern workplace. Our office with height-adjustable tables is separate from the milling machines. There is cleanliness and order, and we can monitor the machines via screens from the office. We also have a huge recreation room with a state-of-the-art kitchen, showers and plenty of space. I feel like I am at home!

You are always in a good mood and positive. Why?

I’m generally a positive person and like to laugh. But the team also makes it easy for me. We are currently 6 people and a well-rehearsed team. We help and support each other, treat each other with respect and our achievements are recognized. Sometimes we even cook together in the company and then eat together.

What do you particularly like about mould2part and your work?

mould2part has become like a second family to me. I am forever grateful that I was given the opportunity to set foot in the company without any training. Today, I am a permanent member of the team and am even planning to start an apprenticeship, which the company will support again.
